3. Must-Check Before Booking the New Camellia Ferry: Check-in Procedures and Sailing Schedule
The key to successfully completing your New Camellia ferry reservation is “punctuality”. Unlike flights, ferry check-in deadlines are often stricter and close earlier, making it essential to arrive on time.
The Busan International Passenger Terminal offers excellent accessibility. It can be reached in about 10–15 minutes on foot via the elevated pedestrian walkway(Skybridge) directly connected to Exit 10 of Busan Station, making it a convenient starting point for your journey.
Check-in at Busan Port is more than just a boarding process-it is the first exciting step of your trip. Arriving early gives you enough time to secure a good spot on board and prepare for a relaxed and comfortable stay during the voyage.
One of the most commonly overlooked details by travelers searching for New Camellia booking information is the baggage drop-off deadline and ticketing cut-off time. To help you avoid confusion, Travelwing provides a clear timeline in advance so you can begin your trip smoothly and stress-free.
If your departure is from Busan, there may be cases where a travel agency staff member assists with ticket issuance on your behalf: this will be communicated to you in advance.

💡Best Cabin Choices by Travel Style
Cabin class is a key factor that determines the overall quality of your journey aboard the New Camellia Ferry. While the most budget-friendly option, the Second Class shared cabin, is perfectly adequate, upgrading to a Second Class bed cabin for an additional 15,000 KRW provides a much more private and comfortable rest environment, complete with personal curtains and power outlets.
For families or couples, a First Class cabin or higher, which includes a private washbasin, is highly recommended. In particular, the Royal Suite offers the ultimate luxury at sea, featuring a private terrace and bathtub where you can enjoy a relaxing soak while gazing out at the night ocean.
Choosing a cabin that matches your travel style is the secret to staying refreshed and making the most of your voyage on the New Camellia Ferry.
- Family Travel with Young Children:
We strongly recommend a 1st Class cabin (Japanese-style or Western-style), where children can move around more freely without disturbing others. The tatami-style Japanese room is especially safe and comfortable for young children when sleeping. - Traveling with Parents (Senior-Friendly Option):
A Deluxe Class cabin is the best choice to minimize fatigue during the journey. With a private toilet and shower inside the room, elderly passengers can stay comfortably without needing to use shared facilities. - Solo Travelers Who Value Privacy:
The 2nd Class Bed Cabin is the most popular option. It maintains the affordability of shared accommodations while still providing a personal sleeping space. Individual curtains allow you to rest without worrying about others. - Romantic Anniversary or Special Occasion Trips:
Choose the Royal Suite, the most luxurious option on board. Enjoying a glass of champagne on your private terrace while overlooking the night sea will create unforgettable memories.

7. Sudden Change of Plans? Complete Guide to Cancellation and Change Fees
The final step in preparing for a perfect trip is being ready for unexpected situations. One of the most important things to understand when booking the New Camellia ferry is the penalty policy based on the timing of cancellation.
If you cancel your reservation or request changes after receiving the final confirmation, fees will be calculated based on the total travel cost (full package price), which includes both the ferry fare and any cabin upgrade charges, according to the schedule below.
[ 💰Cancellation Fee Rate by Timing]
| Time of Cancellation | Change Request Fee Rate (Based on Total Package Price) |
| Up to 30 days before departure | Basic fee of 10,000 KRW per ticket |
| Up to 15 days before departure | 15% of total package price |
| Up to 8 days before departure | 20% of total package price |
| Up to 4 days before departure | 30% of total package price |
| Up to 2 days before departure | 50% of total package price |
| Until 15:00 one day before departure | 70% of total package price |
| After 15:00 one day before departure ~ Day of departure | Non-refundable (including no-shows) |
[🚨 Important Notes You Must Check]
- Office Hours:
Cancellation and change requests are accepted only during business hours, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. Requests cannot be processed on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays, and the applicable fee will be calculated based on the next business day. - Changes to Travel Dates:
Once departure has been confirmed, schedule changes are not permitted. If you wish to change your travel dates, you must cancel the existing reservation and make a new booking, and the standard cancellation fees will apply. - Adding Passengers or Modifying Booking Details:
Even after confirmation, any changes-such as adding passengers that require a cabin upgrade or other modifications to previously confirmed arrangements-will incur change fees. - No Partial Cancellation for Round-Trip Tickets:
If you booked a round-trip ticket, canceling only one leg of the journey is not refundable, so please take note. - Full Refund of Taxes:
Even in cases of same-day cancellation or when the booking is otherwise non-refundable, any prepaid fuel surcharge and port taxes (TAX) will be fully refunded if you did not actually board the ferry.
Editor’s Tip:
Even one day before departure, cancellation requests are closed in the ferry company’s system after 15:00, and any requests made after this time are treated the same as same-day cancellations. To avoid unnecessary fees, be sure to make any changes before 15:00 on a business day.
8. What to Do in Case of Ferry Cancellation
Since this is an overseas journey by sea, sailings may be cancelled due to severe weather conditions such as typhoons or strong winds, or because of urgent vessel maintenance. In cases of weather-related cancellations, a 100% refund is available in accordance with the ferry company’s policy. This is essential information to understand when learning how to book the New Camellia ferry.
- 100% Refunds and Schedule Changes
- If a sailing is cancelled due to force majeure such as natural disasters, you may receive a full refund or change your travel date without any cancellation fee for the affected voyage.
- When the Return Trip (Departure from Fukuoka) Is Cancelled
- If only the return sailing from Fukuoka to Busan is cancelled, assistance will be provided for either a refund or a date change for the one-way fare departing from Fukuoka.
- Issuance of Cancellation Certificate
- An official cancellation certificate will be issued so that you can submit it to other reservation providers (such as hotels) to request a reduction or waiver of their cancellation penalties.
- Important Note: No Compensation for Additional Stay Expenses
- Since cancellations are unavoidable safety measures, the ferry company and travel agency are not responsible for compensating additional expenses incurred locally, such as accommodation or meal costs during extended stays.
- Checking Alternative Transportation
- In the event of a cancellation, it is important to quickly check updates via the ferry company’s official website or Travelwing notification messages and consider alternative flights or sailings if necessary.
